Futuristic entertainment: LED robots and mirror man

For weddings, corporate events, store openings and fairs

What a futuristic show with LED robots includes

Programmable LED suits and armour, glowing robots, stilt walkers with wings of light and the mirror man: characters that need no explaining and that work as well for a wedding crowd as for a fairground one. Every costume carries its own light, so the act reads at night or indoors with nothing to rig.

A static set runs twenty-five minutes and a walkabout thirty. Indoors, the format that works best is the welcome: the glowing characters receive guests at the door, mix among them and then take the floor.

The mirror man is a different job: a corridor and photo-call character, not a stage act. He moves among the guests, poses and hands back the reflection of everyone who comes near. He generates more photographs than anything else in our repertoire.

For weddings, corporate events, openings and the hora loca

Futuristic is the theme booked most often for weddings, and nearly always for the same thing: the hora loca. Twenty or thirty minutes with LED suits, glowing robots and props for the guests, placed exactly when the dance floor starts to flag.

At corporate events and openings the use is different: welcoming guests, opening the proceedings and the photo call. And at fairs and town festivals it goes in as the lit parade of the night, before the fire show.

We need no stage and no set-up. A power point, a closed room nearby for costume changes and a clear floor is enough. We bring the sound if it is needed.

The robot is not a costume with lights: it is a dance technique

The robot is not a costume with lights on it: it is a dance technique. Diego Grau, artistic director of Fantasía y Eventos, has spent years specialising in optical illusion and mechanical movement. Both the mirror man and the LED robot are built on that foundation: popping, boogaloo, waving, tutting and footwork, and within robot technique the hit, the dime stop, the continuous, the bounce and the animation, plus mime and isolations. That is what lets the audience stand a metre away and still not see where the trick begins.

The track record is behind every performance: lead dancer at the opening ceremony of the Ohmnishaki Festival (Golden Bay, New Zealand) and main stage at the Yatra, Basscamp, Revive and Circulation festivals. In Spain, walkabout entertainment and shows at Parque Warner Madrid and the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, musical theatre in The Lion King and La fábrica de los Reyes Magos, and work for Atresmedia, Televisión Española and Telemadrid.

That is why our mirror man and LED robot do not resemble the ones hired out by the hour: what you book is the technique, not the suit. We travel from Madrid and the journey is inside the quote, anywhere in Spain, with no per-kilometre charge.

How to book

Tell us the date, the venue, the running order and the number of guests and we send back a fixed quote as a PDF with several options depending on the number of performers. It covers everything but VAT: performers, LED suits and armour, batteries and spares, props, our own sound, insurance, social security registration, travel, accommodation and per diems.

Every performer is registered with social security by the company, which carries public liability insurance and accident insurance. For weddings and private events we also work with the planner, if you would rather they coordinated it.

Want the hora loca with a different look — drag show, eighties, mobile disco? We build it at no extra cost.
