Celtic entertainment and Samhain night
Celtic markets, Samhain, Halloween parades and St John's Eve

What a set of Celtic entertainment includes
Celtic differs from medieval in tone: less court and chivalry, more forest, ritual and drum. The cast is built from warriors in furs and shields, druids, fairies, fauns and woodland creatures, with their own costume and make-up, and live percussion driving the parade.
The ritual is the act that works best: a fire ceremony with dance, percussion and fire breathing, staged in the square or on the sand if the fair is by the sea. It runs twenty-five minutes and can be programmed at dusk, which is when it shines.
For younger audiences we send out the fauns, the fairies and the elves on walkabout, with giant bubbles and juggling. Same look, brought down to a child's eye level.

Celtic markets, Samhain and summer fairs
Celtic entertainment is booked mainly in two places: the Celtic markets of the north — Galicia, Asturias and Castilla y León — and summer fairs looking for something other than the medieval one in the next village. It also fits the Galician Samhain, which is Halloween under another name and another root.
A full day is five sets; a half day, three. The usual order is an opening parade, two entertainment blocks, a lit parade and a closing fire ritual. If the fair runs two or three days the programme spreads out and the price per day comes down.
We need no stage. A closed room nearby to change in, a water point and a clear area for the fire is enough. If the fire goes on a beach or among trees, we agree it with the council beforehand and put it in writing.

Where we have staged Celtic entertainment
At the Celtic market in Ayllón, Segovia, with the night fire show in the square. In Laxe, A Coruña, with a parade through the market and fire on the beach. In O Porriño, Vilagarcía de Arousa and Baiona, in Pontevedra, and in Foz, Lugo. In Vegadeo and Tineo, Asturias.
Galicia and the Cantabrian coast are natural ground for this theme, but we have taken it just as readily to fairs in Castilla y León and the Madrid region that wanted to stand apart. Travel is inside the quote, wherever we go.
How to book
Tell us the town, the dates, the running order and roughly how many people you expect, and we send a fixed quote as a PDF with several line-up options. The price covers everything but VAT: performers, costume, props, percussion, our own sound, fire materials, insurance, social security registration, travel, accommodation and per diems, with no weekend or bank holiday surcharge.
The company carries public liability insurance and accident insurance, and every performer is registered with social security. We supply the documentation any street entertainment tender asks for: description, running time, sets per day, audience and photographic material.
Want to mix Celtic with Viking or Celtiberian? We build it at no extra cost. A custom theme is inside the price.
